Welcome to the Social Services Administration. We provide support and care for the elderly and for people with disabilities. Our goal is to enable them to live as active and independent lives as possible.

The Social Services Administration is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and support. Here, approximately 7,500 employees work based on our core values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. With us, there are great opportunities to take responsibility, develop, and contribute with your skills. We strive for an organizational culture built on trust and pride in our work.

Within the Social Services Administration, full-time employment is the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a possible interview. The only exceptions (to full-time as the norm) are personal assistants.

As a residential support worker, you will have the opportunity to make a difference for individuals, helping them achieve greater independence in their homes, in social contexts, and in their activities. You will work in a delivery team where communication and collaboration are essential in daily work.

Job Description

As a residential support worker, you will independently guide each person through skill training in their homes, in the community, and during leisure activities. The support may involve pedagogically assisting the individual in creating structure and routines, as well as helping them to establish and maintain social contacts, all aimed at fostering a more independent life.

You will closely collaborate with other team members, case managers, and other relevant professionals. The role of a residential support worker includes a process-oriented approach together with the individual, which means continuously documenting and following up on the goals in the action plan established together with the individual based on their goals and sub-goals.

We are now looking for a residential support worker for a temporary position lasting between 6 months and up to 1 year. You will be based at one of our offices on the eastern side of the city.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with education in nursing with a focus on psychiatry, social treatment work, or other education deemed relevant by the employer for the position. You have experience working with individuals with mental disabilities, both independently and in teams. The job also requires good IT skills, the ability to cycle, take the bus, and excellent proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), systems theory education, e.g., care and support coordination, is considered an asset. It is also an advantage if you have a B driver's license.

As a person, you are empathetic and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. You take initiative and start activities to achieve results. The job suits you if you are pedagogical and understand people's varying abilities to absorb knowledge. Additionally, you find it easy to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. Last but not least, we are looking for someone who is good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing their work.
